Jack Scott, 61, of Marietta died Wednesday, February 6, 2013. Funeral Services will be Saturday, February 9, 2013 at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Marietta Funeral Home with Rev. Marty Pinion officiating. Interment will be in Anniston Memorial Gardens in Anniston, AL. Mr. Scott grew up in Brooklyn, NY and attended Xaverian Catholic High School where he graduated in 1969. He then attended the University of Maine. He aggressively pursued learning and excelled in technical problem solving and home remodeling. One of his projects was a mother-in-law suite addition on his home. Mr. Scott had his Private Pilot’s license and also enjoyed traveling, music, reading and theatre. He was an animal lover and adored his dogs and cats. He started his career with Western Electric and then went to Northern Telecom (Nortel) where he worked for 31 years. He later worked for Siemens Corporation. Lastly, he was employed by Computer Services Corporation as a Service Delivery Manager in Clarksville, VA. He enjoyed a fast paced work environment and was highly regarded by his co-workers. He is survived by his wife, Debbie Scott of Marietta; Mother-in-Law, Dorothy Marden of Marietta; Cousins, Tomi Guandalina (David), Pam Sasso (Pat), Skipper Hagy (Laurin)of Columbia, CT., and Ronnie French (Cathy). If someone would prefer to make a contribution instead of flowers, contributions may be made to Best Friends Animal Sanctuary, Attn: Shelia Johnson, 5001 Angel Canyon Road, Kanab, UT 84741. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 7-9pm at Marietta Funeral Home, 915 Piedmont Road, Marietta, GA 30066.
