Louise James Hawkins, 98, formerly of Kennesaw, Georgia, passed away Saturday, February 9, 2013. Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 14, 2013 at 2 pm in the chapel of Marietta Funeral Home with Rev. Bob Noffsinger and Rev. Charles Pearce officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. View Cemetery. Mrs. Hawkins was a lifelong resident of Cobb County. She was a machine operator for McLaurens and retired in 1979 after over thirty years of service. She was also a School Crossing Guard at Bells Ferry Elementary School. Mrs. Hawkins was a member of First Baptist Church Kennesaw. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Kennesaw Chapter #414. Mrs. Hawkins was preceded in death by her husband, William Virgil Hawkins and her son, James Robert Hawkins. She is survived by son, Sammy J. Hawkins of Jasper; son, Johnny M. Hawkins and his wife, Brenda, of Kennesaw; son, William L. Hawkins and his wife, Gloria, of Jasper; step-daughter, Bobbie Lou Hawkins of Jasper; brother, Ellis Ray James and his wife, Edith, of Wayne, Michigan; ten grandchildren; several great grandchildren; several great great grandchildren; along with dozens of in-laws, nieces, nephews and cousins. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 5-9 pm at Marietta Funeral Home, 915 Piedmont Road, Marietta, GA 30066.
